Made to commemorate Naperville’s 150-year anniversary, the Riverwalk Park in Naperville Illinois was created in 1981. As a peaceful haven with brick walkways and fountains, the Riverwalk has outdoor sculpture and artwork in addition to recreational amenities and commemorative markers. There are 1.75 miles of brick paths on the Riverwalk.

The Riverwalk is distinguished by the excellent quality of the facilities that along its course. There’s the Fredenhagen Park in the east section that welcomes tourists with its historic clock tower and Exchange Club Memories Fountain. Then there is a Naperville Jaycees Park near City Hall with chairs, shade, and power outlets for gadgets that may be used as an outdoor workstation.

The Dandelion Fountain, Paddleboat Quarry, and Millennium Carillon in Moser Tower are also in the park. For those looking for more family fun, head west to historic Centennial Beach, Centennial Park, with its inline skating and skateboarding facilities.

Is there an admission fee?

No, there is no admission fee to enter the park.

Any events to see at the park?

The Riverwalk hosts several activities throughout the year, such as charity walks, marathons, and triathlons, as well as seasonal celebrations and story times. Many of the activities are scheduled by the Park District, however the Naperville Public Library conducts the children’s story times.

Yes, you may have a wedding or other event on the Riverwalk. For a price, you can book one of three spots.

The Riverwalk allows for the taking of photos. There’s no need for a license or permission to do this. Nevertheless, please remember that the Riverwalk is a public park, and respect the rights of others to use its facilities.
