Have you seen the hjistoric Bowstring Truss Bridge inside Ariel-Foundation Park in Mt. Vernon Ohio?

This is a rare 1872 style iron bowstring bridge. It was in Mt. Vernon park for pedestrian use from its original location at Wakatomika Creek on Mill Road.

Significance: The Mill Road Bridge is a tubular bowstring design built by the Wrought Iron Bridge Company of Canton, Ohio, one of the most important bridge companies of the 19th century. The bow is made of “Phoenix columns” manufactured by the Phoenix Iron Company of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

No, the bridge is inside a public park.

Where is the parking area?

There are plenty of spaces around the park that are allotted for parking. You will never have a hard time finding a place to park.

It is very kid-friendly park. I have seen families enjoying the park by strolling, and even boating in the lake.
