When visiting Point Pleasant, West Virginia, stop by at the historical Tu-Endie-Wei State Park and you would never regret you did!

Inside the park is the 84-foot granite Battle Monument that commemorates the frontiersmen who fought and died in the 1774 Battle of Point Pleasant.

There’s also the Sallie Marmet Anchor displayed on the ground. The anchor was from the boat Sallie Marmot that hit and sunk in August of 1925.

You can also find the 1796 mansion house inside the park. It was the first hewn log house in the Kanawha Valley and was made entirely by hand. Later it was enlarged and in 1901, the daughters of the American Revolution aided by patriotic citizens of Mason county had it restored to its original style.

A walking distance from the park is the famous Mothman statue.
