Looking for free attractions to visit in St. Louis, Missouri? There are a few located at Forest Park. And all of them are just walking distances with each other. Try the Missouri History Museum and the Museum of Art. Or better yet, spend a day at the St. Louis Zoo!

Compared with other zoos that I have visited in neighboring States around the U.S., the St. Louis Zoo is as attractive as the Chicago’s Lincoln Zoo but so much nicer than the Cincinnati Zoo. Also, entrance to St. Louis Zoo is free and what else could beat that!

St. Louis Zoo is not as big as Omaha’s Henry Doorly, but it has its own highlights that attract tourists and visitors. Its layout is well-planned and easy to follow. You can easily spend a day inside without getting bored. If you have kids, they will love this zoo. It has a train that takes you around and lets you hop on and off at points of destinations in the zoo. Food is not a problem as there are snack bars and a main cafe inside. In terms of animals, the zoo won’t fail you as there is a wide range of animals to see.

If you are visiting St. Louis, do not pass the chance to visit the zoo. You won’t regret the experience.

Tips:

1. Wear a comfortable pair of shoes. You’d do a lot of walking
2. To save money, you can bring your own bottled water. Water is quite expensive inside.
3. Parking at the zoo is not free, about $10. If you do not mind walking a very short distance, then park at the neighboring Museum of Art. It is free there.
