Part of the Stebelton Park at Rock Mill is a historic bridge — the Rock Mill covered bridge, which is situated beside the equally iconic mill and atop the scenic waterfall. The queen-post-truss type bridge is 36.5 ft long, 15 ft wide, and 13 ft high, with additional 5 ft overhang on the sides.

According to the Fairfield County Park District that manages the site, the original bridge was known as Loveland Mill and was built in 1849. Decades after, renovations and replacements were done to the bridge.

The current bridge was built in 1901 by Jacob R “Blue Jeans” Brandt. This is one of the last covered bridge in Fairfield County to carry vehicular traffic.

When visiting the Rock Mill Covered Bridge, follow the trail that leads to the waterfall just below the bridge.

Is there a parking lot?

Yes, there is a designated parking space at the Rock Mill location. The space is very limited, maybe only 6 vehicles capacity. However, at the other side of the bridge, there is a huge space where I’ve seen a number of visitors (who were there just to take photos of the bridge and the mill) used it for parking.

Do you have questions?

I will be happy to answer questions about visiting the covered bridge, if you have any.
