The Greenville waterfall in Newberry Township, Covington Ohio is about 20 feet wide, and this particular cascade is one of the widest I’ve seen in western Ohio. It is located inside the Greenville Falls State Scenic River Area. The waterfall can be viewed from an elevated platform along one of the park’s trails. However, there is also a rugged, downhill path that leads to the waterfall itself.

Swimming is not allowed. But fishing and wading in the cascades seem to be okay, as I have seen a number of visitors doing it when I was there.

From the parking lot, follow the trail for a short walk to the waterfall.

Where to park

The address will lead you to the parking space. It is a small lot with about 10 to 12 vehicle capacity.

Best time to visit

The best time to travel and visit the waterfall is summer season and around mid afternoon. I was there around 3 PM and there were only 5 cars parked.

Is it kid-friendly?

It sure is. You may have to be very careful when bringing the kids down the hilly and rugged path from the walking trail to the river edge.
