It was a nice Friday late afternoon at the Xenia Community Festival in Xenia, Ohio! I arrived with the Shawnee Park already full of spectators, mostly families with young kids. The vendors had their night lights on already as dusk could hit the horizon any sooner. Many visitors were seated at the greens that surround the section of the park where hot air balloons were getting ready to be inflated. Yes, the hot air balloon glow at Xenia Community Festival was one of the highlights of the night!

Around 7:30 PM when darkness started to manifest, the hot air balloons began to inflate. The audience were excited each time the balloons flickered in unison. The colorful balloons were a sight to behold, especially because people don’t get to see them often in display in community fests.

Here are some photos I took.

This annual event is worth seeing. So for those near Xenia, Ohio, check this out next year. The schedule is posted at the Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce.

Admission to the festival? It is FREE!

One more thing, go early. I had a hard time finding a parking spot as parking space in the park is limited.
