Who is Brain Contour?

Eric

I own braincontour.com.

Eric Salas. Filipino. Pinoy. Cebuano. Bisdak.

A traveler. Easy-going. Radically honest. Incredibly hardworking.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering [University of San Carlos-Technological Center, Philippines], a Master of Science degree in Geo-Information [Wageningen University and Research, The Netherlands], and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Geospatial Science and Engineering [South Dakota State University, USA].  Also, I need to fulfill one requirement in order to obtain the degree Doctor in Public Administration [Cebu Normal University].

Modest dreamer. I write with broken English. For four straight years, I was a columnist for the South Dakota State University Collegian Newspaper.

Professional blogger. Own and co-own more than 10 blogs. Recognized as one of the top Philippine bloggers by some blog-ranking sites. One thing that made me so proud was running the “Filipino Blog of the Week” award for more than 3 years.

I am not a journalist. However, I had essays and articles published in the Philippines’ most-read newspaper (print and online) Philippine Daily Inquirer [Youngblood Section], Sun-Star Daily Cebu [Lifestyle Section], Sun-Star Weekend Magazine [thanks to my editor and award-winning writer Madam Erma Cuizon who truly inspired me to be a regular contributor], The Freeman Newspaper and Sunday Magazine, ABS-CBN online and the now abandoned pinoycentral.com.

While enjoying every pursuit of excellence and experiencing the peaks in life – I am also a busy geo-scientist [Visit my professional page].

What are you doing in the blogosphere?

Honestly, I can only think of superficial reasons. One, is my love for sharing my own travel experiences.

How long have you been blogging?

I started blogging in late January 2006. If you are reading this in January 2016, then it has been 10 years. So far, blogging has been fulfilling, especially when I get comments from regular readers.

Where do you get the time to blog?

Ask yourself about where you get the time to read this ridiculous FAQ. Oh yes, I have a life outside blogging.

Can I link to your blog?

Sure babe. Feel free. Tell me when you do it because I might link to yours too.

Don’t you blog about sex or anything porno?

Not the extreme ones. LOL. Maybe, in few cases, for educational purposes. If you are into a much deeper penetration, boy, you are in the wrong side of the blogosphere.

Do you love “sex”?

What is this? Next please…

Who are your friends in the blogosphere?

Countless and hard to name them all. I met them in forums and other blog engines.

What else do you want to share with your readers?

I love vinegar and soy sauce. Jade Citrus Mint Green Tea flows in my veins.

Is it true that you dance so well?

No truth to that. But, I sing for fun. I play the guitar when I can. I draw portraits with charcoal as a medium. No dancing.

And you have a Foundation too?

I started the Salas Scholarship Foundation, giving financial aids to students who want to pursue college education but do not have the financial means to fulfill their goals.

So do you like blogging?

You are not sincerely reading this, do you? Refer to the answers above, you sleepy head!

I already love you, can I find you on social media?

I tweet and retweet when I can. Follow me (and become my stalker). Subscribe free to my feeds. ‘Facebook’er? Add me in. Brain Contour is also on LinkedIn.

Any fave line?

I like sacrifices: “Sacrifice is a part of life. It’s supposed to be. It is not something to regret. It’s something to aspire to.” — M. Albom
