As the title says, one of the largest model railroad museums in the world, and the biggest in the USA, can be found in San Diego, California USA. Called as “San Diego Model Railroad Museum“, the museum houses a scale model railway that replicates San Diego’s train tracks. With trains operational and appearing realistic, this is something traveling to San Diego should visit. There are tunnels, lights, villages, landscapes in great detail, and running trains — who doesn’t get excited with that?

Also, ask the staff if you are curious of how the models were built. They are very helpful and willing to explain the exhibits.

Time needed to spend inside the museum — at least 1 hour.

Museum experience rating: 8/10
