The Cologne Cathedral aka Dom is the landmark of Cologne, Germany. Towering approximately 157 m (515 ft), it is considered the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe and its spires are known to be largest facade of any church in the world.
Right in the middle of the city, you cannot just visit Cologne without seeing the Dom. Just step out of the Cologne main train station, Hauptbahnhoff, and you’d see this astounding Gothic structure that dominates the city landscape.
Since it is easily accessible by public transport, hundreds of people visits the Cathedral every day.
You can also climb to the top of the towers with a small fee. I recommended that you pay for a guided tour if you want to know more about it.
