Hi Eric, just read your blog post on mother tongue multilingual education. I would greatly appreciate knowing your email address to communicate further on language issues in the Philippines. I am a consultant working for the Provincial Government of La Union and have been tapped to help them craft the country’s first ever comprehensive provincial language policy. It is not done yet but it deals with issues of local language revitalization, multilingual services and rights, and most especially on how the LGU can help make the local implementation of mother tongue education a success. Who knows, I might even be able to provide you good content for a future blog post!
Sincere regards,
Firth McEachern.

P.S. I noticed you define the L2 as English, and Filipino as L3. That’s correct for many Filipinos — i don’t know why DepEd’s version decides for all non-Tagalogs that their second language is Tagalog/Filipino, and not English, when many in Visayas really have English as their second language.
