			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Oh my gully! Poor Philippines. My country ranks 105 (out of 182 countries) in the just released 2009 rankings of the <strong>UN Human Development Index</strong> (HDI). The report shows the Philippines down by 15 spots from 90 in the 2007/2008 rankings.<br />

<p>Norway dethrones Iceland moving up from no. 2 to no. 1.<br />

The United States is down by one spot &#8212; from 12 to rank 13. India, which seems to show a lot of progress in the past year, also drops from 128 to 134. China is down from 81 to 92.</p>
<p>The Human Development Index measures achievements in terms of life expectancy, educational attainment and adjusted real income.</p>
