Are you ready for it? In my last check few minutes ago, no update has been released yet. But it will arrive sooner than later, reports are sure it will be available around 1PM/ET.

How to get the Apple iOS 5 and install it
It is actually very simple. Ready your iPhone, iPad, or iPod and your computer.

1. Connect your device (iPhone, iPad, or iPod) to the computer and wait for the iTunes to launch. Usually, this is automatic. If not, launch the iTunes manually.

2. iTunes will detect the device connected to the computer. You will find it on the left side. Click on your device (mine is “Eric’s iPad.”). This will show you a screen about the device.

3. In the window, look for the “Check for Update” button and click it. If the Apple iOS 5 is not yet available for download, the current version of your iOS will appear in a window. (Note: TechCrunch suggests that you need to have the iTunes 10.5 to make the iOS update easier. If you have not updated to this version yet, get the iTunes 10.5 now.)

4. But when you click “Check for Update” and the new iOS 5 is available for download, select “Download and Update.”

5. Wait. Wait. Wait. Your Apple device and your computer will do the rest of the updating for you.

6. Once the update is done, you are ready to go and enjoy the new OS!

There is something more in your credit card number than what you think it only is. The 16 digits on your card have meanings. And I just found out how to interpret them. If you own a VISA or MasterCard, the first digit of your credit card number could be either 4 or 5.

Do you want to interpret the rest of the digits? Follow the guide below. It worked on mine. Leave me comments if it also works on you.

Mediacom Internet Service sucks! It was just few months ago when I complained about the sudden interruption of Mediacom’s Cable TV service without any notice. Today, it is Mediacom’s Internet Service that has completely malfunctioned!

According to Mediacom, network problems are responsible for a widespread loss of internet service that began Tuesday night and continue Thursday. The company said that the loss of internet service is not related to the ice storm. Mediacom further said that their network engineers are still troubleshooting the cause of the outage.

What the heck Mediacom! I have lost few hundred dollars of earnings because of your below standard, intermittent internet connectivity. Should you refund me for those days that you did not provide my home any service? What about the income that I should have earned in those days that I don’t have the connection? Will you pay me for that? Because I tell you, I pay my bills without fail. Not getting what I paid for boils my blood!

Is this customer service for you? My gully Mediacom!

Don’t be fooled by those Gmail phishing emails sent to you. I have been receiving these emails from time to time and I know by just reading the title that the emails are fraud. The fake emails are intended to steal your personal information. Here is what I got today:

So how would you know it’s fake? Simple.

1. Check where the email was coming from. In this case, it came from support [at] gmadcenter [dot] com. That is not the official email address of Google. Google will not use a gmail address either.

2. Gmail team will never tell anyone that your account will be deleted.

3. Gmail makes notices in correct grammar. This one fails the English grammar test.

4. Gmail does not and will not ask users of their passwords or bank accounts!

5. Gmail does not use colorful text notices. This emails comes with a signature with each letter in different colors. So fake!

6. Phishers always employ the “fear” factor when sending emails. They will threat you of closing your account if you won’t reply. Gmail team, on the other hand, will not.

If you receive emails like the one above, never hesitate to send them to the bin! Protect your personal information all the time.

How to download Facebook videos? There are many options that you will probably read online when you search these keywords “download Facebook videos.” I used to use free video online downloader sites, where you have to specify the URL of the video – YouTube, Facebook, MySpace, etc. – and the site will convert the video for you to a format you want, like mp4, mp3, flv. No software needed for conversion. However, Facebook is prohibiting the download sites lately. Facebook is changing its system to disallow download of videos.

What about if you have a video on Facebook and you want to have a copy because you lost the original one? Then that is a problem. Some sites suggest you download Firefox add-ons such as “Greasemonkey” or “Facebookvideo”. It worked before, but not now.

So if you cannot make use of a web service to download Facebook videos, not even use a web browser add-ons, then the best way is to use software programs.

Here are few steps to download Facebook videos:

Step 1: Download and install Streaming Video Recorder to your computer if you don’t have one.

Step 2: Once installed, run the Streaming Video Recorder, in other words, open it. Click “Settings” to set up the location of where you want to save the downloaded and converted videos.

Step 3: Log-in to facebook.com and play the Facebook video you want to download. The moment the video plays, the Facebook video downloader will detect it automatically and start the downloading process.

Step 4: After downloading, preview the downloaded videos by click “Play” button or double-click the downloaded video open a new window and play it.

Notes:
- This also works for YouTube and MySpace videos.
- Don’t download copyrighted videos.

That’s it. Enjoy!
