Yes, there are spots for free parking at Hoover Dam. Don’t be fooled by the sign near the entrance of the dam that says ‘pay parking.’ Just continue driving across the river, up the hill to find places to park for free! In fact, it is even much better to park uphill because you can be closer to the viewing spots and see this amazing engineering feat and national landmark.

At the top of the dam, you can spend as much time as you like enjoying views of the river, the highway bridge, and the lake (of which its water level is historically low). Note that is completely free to walk and drive through. There is no entrance fee to view the outside, unless you do the tours!

Here are few things you may want to know:

The dam is about 35-minute drive from Las Vegas, Nevada.
Parking is $10.
Tours are $10 for museum.
Machine/Turbine tour is $15.

When is the best time to visit? I would suggest that you go on late afternoons to avoid the crowd.

If you haven’t visited the dam yet, put it on your bucket list. This is one of the greatest engineering marvels in the world you don’t want to miss.Hoover Dam
