The IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico is the only museum in the world dedicated solely to advancing the understanding of the contemporary Native arts.

The look of the museum from the outside is appealing, with all those multi-colored columns that line the sidewalk.

Even if you do not intend to go inside the building, you will still be able to view the sculptures displayed on the courtyard.

This is a very small museum that is not designed to appeal to everyone. I admit that the exhibits are provocative and they challenge the imagination. However, the exhibits are too few (with only three small galleries) that I went out of the building sorely disappointed. The second floor displays are nonexistent. When I was there, most galleries were off limits to visitors!

If you are not into contemporary art by native American artists, then most likely, you won’t enjoy this museum.
