The New Mexico Museum of Space History is a 30-minute drive from the White Sands National Monument. Since I am attracted to anything concerning space, I decided to drive to the east side of Alamogordo, New Mexico to check it out.
The museum is not hard to locate. In fact, you can see even a mile afar, as it is situated atop a hill. First impression: the building looks magnificent from where it stands.
There’s the mountain range as its backdrop.

Then there’s the view of the town below on the other side.
Go to the top first.
It is advisable to take the elevator to the fourth level and start the space journey from the topmost to the bottom.

From the window, you will see down below several old rockets on display outside.
There are a number of space memorabilia, like this Lunar Sample Container./
There are scale models of different shuttles.

Some engine parts on display.
Winding ramp that goes from top to lower levels.

The various rocket components are displayed in a manner that allowed visitors to study the technological evolution of this science.

As I mentioned above, the building looks magnificent!
This little museum in a small town captures the history of space exploration. However, do not expect this facility to be at par with other space museums across the U.S. where actual vehicles are on display.
