You go to the Buffalo, New York for one reason – to see the U.S. side of the Niagara Falls. Whichever side you are, Canadian or American, you will never get tired of the falls. There was so much to do and enjoy.

Niagara Falls is a world-renowned natural wonder located on the Niagara River, which separates Ontario, Canada and New York State, USA. It is comprised of three waterfalls: Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls. Collectively, these falls have become one of the most popular tourist destinations in North America, attracting millions of visitors each year.

The Horseshoe Falls, also known as the Canadian Falls, is the largest of the three waterfalls and sits on the Canadian side of the river. Its distinctive shape, which resembles a horseshoe, measures approximately 671 meters (2,200 feet) in width and drops 57 meters (188 feet) into the Niagara River below. The American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, located on the American side, are smaller in size but still impressive. The American Falls measures approximately 260 meters (850 feet) in width and drops 21 meters (70 feet) while the Bridal Veil Falls is 17 meters (56 feet) in width and drops 24 meters (78 feet).

The falls were formed over 10,000 years ago during the last ice age when melting glaciers caused the Niagara River to form. The water that flows over the falls comes from four of the five Great Lakes, which make up the largest freshwater system in the world. The sheer volume of water flowing over the falls is staggering, with approximately 168,000 cubic meters (6 million cubic feet) of water cascading over the edge every minute during peak flow.

In addition to their natural beauty, the falls have become a symbol of power and industry, with hydroelectric power stations built along the Niagara River to harness the energy created by the rushing water. The first hydroelectric power station was built in 1895, and today, the Niagara Falls region generates enough electricity to power over three million homes.

Tourists from around the world come to witness the awe-inspiring power of Niagara Falls. The area is home to a number of attractions, including boat tours that take visitors up close to the falls, scenic viewpoints, and the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens. The region is also famous for its casinos, hotels, and restaurants, which offer a range of dining and entertainment options.

Despite its popularity, Niagara Falls remains a natural wonder that has captured the imagination of visitors for centuries. With its stunning natural beauty and impressive power, it is no wonder that Niagara Falls continues to be one of the most beloved and iconic destinations in North America.
