If maintenance was done, there should be a prior notice to inform the subscribers of what really was happening. Or if possible a message on screen that warns the upcoming interruption and not just cut the signal right then and there!

You cannot just cut the signal when someone is watching something important that time without warning, can you. Is that good service?

Dear Ignorant,

At 1 AM is typically when maintenances occur to repair or upgrade the system. If this wasn't done the system would fall apart. 1 am is the subjective time frame as most consumers are in bed sleeping and therefore impact of the maintenance is greatly reduced. Do you have any better ideas?
