There are fountains everywhere in Rome, Italy! If you walk around the Roman City, you will see tourists gathering around fountains and taking photos! One of the most famous and photographed fountain in Rome is the Fontana di Trevi aka Trevi Fountain.

Trevi Fountain is a famous Baroque fountain located in the Trevi district. It was designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi and completed by Giuseppe Pannini in 1762.

The Trevi Fountain is known for its grand size, elaborate design, and stunning sculptures. The fountain is built against the facade of the Palazzo Poli and features a large basin with intricate carvings and a series of cascading waterfalls. The centerpiece of the fountain is a large statue of the god Oceanus, flanked by two horses, representing the sea’s calm and tumultuous states.

One of the most popular traditions associated with the Trevi Fountain is the tossing of a coin into the water. Legend has it that if you throw a coin over your shoulder into the fountain, you will ensure a return to Rome. A second coin will guarantee a new romance, and a third coin will ensure marriage. The practice is so popular that the fountain is estimated to collect over €3,000 in coins each day, which is donated to charity.

The Trevi Fountain has been featured in many films and other forms of popular culture, including Federico Fellini’s classic film “La Dolce Vita.” It remains a popular tourist attraction and a symbol of Rome’s rich cultural history.

It is hard to take a photo of the fountain without including all the tourists surrounding it. This one was the best I could do:
